Plumber:
Role and Responsibilities
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvents, caulking, soldering, brazing, Propressing, or welding equipment.
- Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
- Review blueprints, know building codes and review specifications to determine work details and procedures.
- Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers, lasers, and levels.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.
- Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, water heaters, and fixtures such as, but not limited to sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools.
- Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.
- Install underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.
- Install oxygen and medical gas if licensed to do so.
- Install plumbing inside, outside, on the floor level, below grade, and in the ceiling.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must always put SAFETY FIRST.
- A minimum 2 years of experience.
- Must have reliable transportation and willing to go to jobsites in the areas we work.
- Must own all hand tools needed to perform as a plumber as described in WRN’s tool list.
- Must be a team player and take pride in all work.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
Pipefitter:
Role and Responsibilities
- Cut and thread pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders.
- Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, pressing, and threading joints.
- Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
- Measure and mark pipes for proper installation.
- Lay out of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints, details, and specifications.
- Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications and details.
- Knowledge of the piping system being installed (chilled water, heated water, steam, condensate, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
