Communication Specialist
Job description:
Through coordination of social media best practices, graphic design, and organizational communication, build and maintain relationships between the unique brand of the police department and the community. Use data to inform decisions and collaborate with other department employees to ensure the content published is optimized for each platform used. Keep department leadership informed as to how and why certain pieces of content resonate with audiences more than others, what makes certain content worth sharing, and the importance of engagement as a metric of success on social and other communication platforms. Uses written materials, visual design, custom illustration, art direction, project management, and production knowledge to deliver compelling, creative solutions for digital and print communications. Creates marketing materials for a range of audiences that builds awareness of, drives engagement with, and enhances the reputation of the university police and commitment to Police/Community Relations, as well as recruitment of qualified police applicants. Provides visual guidance and design expertise to enhance the brand and reputation of the university police. Creates original concepts and designs that support the strategic needs of the department and the university community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material. Must pass a comprehensive background investigation. Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in South Carolina.

Salary Range: $33,494-$61,975
