The Department of Radiology, is seeking a Sonographer –Weekend Option. Requires completion of one of the following educational pathways:
- CAAHEP accredited or equivalent program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography or Vascular Technology, or
- Completion of a two-year or more accredited health science program (i.e. Radiologic Technology, Medical Technology, Nursing, etc.) plus completion of a twelve-month formal education program in Sonography, or
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree plus completion of a twelve-month formal education program in Sonography.
- Requires registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers within nine (9) months following the start of employment. Requires registration in abdomen, OB/GYN. Registered in two or more specialty areas is desired, with preference given to general or OB/GYN registration – desired.
Position Summary:
Perform a variety of ultrasound exams and assist in invasive procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
A 60%, weekend option (paid at 90%) Sonographer under limited supervision, perform ultrasound procedures in multiple specialty areas (general sonographer, OB/Gyn & Vascular) utilizing advanced technology/equipment, explain examination procedures to patients and monitor their well-being. Instruct students and staff on examination and equipment operations. Work schedule will primarily be Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm with possibility of rotating holidays.
