Job Overview
Lindner Center of HOPE is a nationally renowned psychiatric center of excellence located in Mason, Ohio, committed to providing state of the art care to patients at all levels of care. We continue to expand our services and are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work with other very talented psychiatrists and health care professionals in a variety of psychiatric specialties. LCOH is part of the UC Health network, and also has affiliations with Cincinnati Children's Hospital and the Mayo Clinic.

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care; including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. Facilitate the delivery of care in both inpatient and outpatient situations, and perform independently or as part of a treatment team. This position is a professional nurse who has acquired advanced knowledge & clinical skills in the management of patients. The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive care to a caseload of patients including consultation, collaboration & referral.

Essential Functions

  • Implements advanced practice through the provision of direct care.
  • Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement of the organization through the quality improvement.
  • Performs the role of Qualified Medical Person in EMTALA situations.
  • Supports business development.
  • Perform appropriate history and physical for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in research and development projects.
  • Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education
Master's Degree in Nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program.

Required Trainings/Certifications

  • Current/valid RN and APN license/license eligible to practice in the state of Ohio.
  • May require certification in corresponding specialty.

Required Experience

  • Three (3) years nursing experience.
  • Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Certificate of Prescriptive Authority, or able to receive within 9 months of employment.
  • CPR Certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in psychiatry is ideal.
  • Certification of Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist from the American Nurse Association Credentialing Center is ideal.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
  • Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
