The Town of Kingstree is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Chief of Police.
The Police Chief is responsible for performing administrative, managerial, and technical functions associated with overseeing the activities of the Police Department. Developing a departmental budget and controlling expenditures are also important duties of the Police Chief. The successful candidate will possess strong management and communications skills, and be able to build trust within all segments of the community. Six years of law enforcement experience is required, with three of those years being in a leadership role. However, 3 years of law enforcement leadership experience is also required. A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred in addition to possessing a current certification from the Criminal Justice Academy of SC. The selected candidate must reside in Kingstree or the local area once they begin employment. The Town of Kingstree offers competitive salaries and benefits.
