The Texarkana Regional Airport Authority (Authority) is seeking an Executive Director who will provide leadership, oversight, coordination, and direction of all activities at the Texarkana Webb Field Regional Airport – TXK. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall business operations, administration, human resources, financial administration, marketing, community relations, business and air service development, planning, engineering, construction, maintenance, safety, and security relating to the Authority’s airport property and facilities.
The successful candidate develops, oversees, and participates in the planning of goals and objectives for all departments of the Authority, including the development and implementation of the strategic vision and initiatives of the Authority. The Executive Director works to maximize the benefit of the airport by driving economic development and continually pursuing air service opportunities that meet the demand of the community. The Executive Director proactively initiates plans and programs that ensure safe, secure, efficient, environmentally responsible and customer and community-focused business practices and facilities for the region.
Position Qualifications
Minimum:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a major in business administration, airport management, public administration, engineering, or a related field is required; a graduate degree in a related discipline is a plus.
- Candidate must have demonstrated skill in strategy development, planning, business negotiations, community relations, and financial administration. The ability to communicate and negotiate effectively is essential.
- Be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, and security clearance check.
- Be fluent with Microsoft Office products (Word. Excel. Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Preferred:
- A minimum of two years’ experience as an airport senior executive at a commercial service airport (Part 139) is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of modern airport administration which have been acquired through verifiable work experience is also preferred as well as a proven track record of success in economic development initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of business practices and principles, along with a broad understanding of industry-related trends, is also desirable.
- Professional certification as an Accredited Airport Executive of American Association of Airport Executives or International Airport Professional of Airports Council International and a pilot’s license is desired.
Salary and Benefits
The starting salary range for this position is $120,000 – $140,000 with a comprehensive benefits package. The salary is negotiable depending on experience.
The successful candidate will pass all TRAA pre-employment and FAA requirements.
