Information Specialist
Position Summary
The Financial Aid Office at St. Catherine University invites applications for an Information Specialist. The Financial Aid Office administers in excess of $100 million in student financial aid annually from federal, state, institutional, and private sources. The Information Specialist exists within a team of long-standing dedication to St. Catherine University.
The Information Specialist creates and manages technical operations across multiple platforms required by federal, state, university and private entities to award and distribute student financial aid in a manner both compliant and necessary to meet office, university and strategic plan enrollment goals.
Responsibilities:
• Create, update, and run SQL based ARGOS dashboards and reports of financial aid, student admission, registration and finance data to support financial aid operations, research activities, and for use in simulations, modeling, and policy decision making.
• Coordinate ARGOS data block, dashboard and report creation with Associate Director, Director, IT, and other offices to ensure proper data collection.
• Maintain processing of email and paper award, tracking, and notifications.
• Train and support staff on running ARGOS reports. Create and update Argos templates for scheduled and ad hoc reports and notifications.
• Create, update, and maintain AM9 (Automic) process flows to ensure timely and accurate data exchanges with Department of Education and student record updates within Ellucian enterprise system and between Slate and Banner.
Required Qualifications
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree OR
• Two years of financial aid experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working with databases, reporting tools, and data analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience working in a higher education environment
• Experience working in Banner, Oracle, HTML, ARGOS and Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies and regulations
