SU is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Videographer and Editor.
Primary Job Duties: Lead the creation of award-winning higher education marketing videos and the generation of compelling visual content for Salisbury University. Leverage the power of visual storytelling for SU to introduce the brand to audiences, educate and engage audiences, and remind audiences why they love SU. Working collaboratively as part of the Marketing & Communications team, help SU and campus entities tell stories through engaging video that drives action, as well as thoughtful still photography. Manage the creation of brand-specific marketing videos from pre- to post-production, with an eye for shots, a knack for generating stories from interviews, and the editing skills to create and tell authentic stories. Help lead the charge of cultivating inspiring visual content, mentoring staff in contributing to the same goal, and working with MarCom and University leadership to reinforce SU's brand, mission and values. Be passionate about capturing beautiful footage and images, developing new ideas, telling the SU story and driving SU's brand forward into tomorrow.
Minimum Qualifications: Five to seven years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field. Experience in video production, photography, communications, journalism, broadcasting or related field. Proficiency in the use of Photoshop and professional video editing software (Adobe Creative Suite/Premiere Pro Video Editing Software); in the use of professional video and still cameras and related equipment; with lighting and sound recording for projects; visualizing and filming story concepts effectively; and production and editing of video. Ability to use Mac computers.
Excellence in visual storytelling through videography and photography. Ability to independently lead projects, while also working within a team. Ability to guide projects from creative conception to production to a final product. Creative and stylistic decision making in filmmaking. Accuracy, strong work ethic, creativity, and attention to detail. Positive, professional attitude, creativity, flexibility, resilience, patience and a willingness and ability to work nights and weekends. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of students, parents, alumni, administrators, faculty and staff and give directions and task small to large groups. Communicate effectively with multiple college audiences. Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations/environments. Knowledge of best practices for use of video and still photos in social media and on websites; server systems and electronic file organization; broadcast production techniques and standards; and proper file storage and archiving.
Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience and experience with a Digital Asset Management system preferred.
This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
