S.C. Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (SCGSSM)
As a school nationally recognized for academic excellence that accepts students from across South Carolina talented in the STEM areas, SCGSSM invites applications for two Enrollment Counselors. Enrollment Counselors work closely with prospective students, high school guidance counselors, parents, alumni, and other constituencies to promote and recruit the best possible students to attend SCGSSM. These staff members also evaluate and process applications for admission with great attention to detail.
Enrollment counselors are dedicated to informing prospective students about the experience at SCGSSM. They will deliver information sessions to various groups, build relationships with high schools counselors in South Carolina, and coordinate duties in the office. Enrollment counselors must be knowledgeable about the day-to-day activities of the school and prepared to discuss academics, student life, and the admissions processes.
A bachelor’s degree is required with some experience in student services or related area. Qualified applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills; a working knowledge of various Microsoft Office software, the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals, and the ability to balance priorities as necessary. Extensive travel within South Carolina along with evening and weekend hours are to be expected.
This is a full-time position with benefits and a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
