Local contractor is seeking experienced and knowledgeable Electricians for projects in the Columbia and surrounding Midlands area. We have multiple positions open for all experience levels. 

Electrical Superintendents Job Summary

We are looking for knowledgeable, experienced, Electrical Superintendents to coordinate operations and progress at our project sites.

To provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

The ideal applicant will have a solid background in the field, strong leadership skills and the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. The Superintendent must be well-organized and strongly focused on safety above all and at all times.

Superintendent Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites at all times
  • Conduct weekly pre-planned safety meetings
  • Ability work in a team environment with a General Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Knowledge and understanding of specifications, submittals, blueprints and local codes
  • Attention to detail on installing products according to specifications, submittals, blueprints and local codes.
  • Communicate with project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s, and Material Submittals.
  • Forecast of labor, materials subcontractors and inspections using a three (3) week look ahead
  • Manage a crew of 3-30 employees depending upon project requirements
  • Interaction with General Contractor and other trades in a positive productive manner
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on site quickly and amicably
  • Maintain tool and equipment inventory
  • BIM 3D modeling
  • Progress and As-Built drawings

Superintendent Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade (plumbing, HVAC, electrical)
  • 7-10 years’ experience in Electrical industry
  • Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance and use, and OSHA guidelines
  • Basic computer skills in Outlook, Excel and Bluebeam
  • Understanding of use and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and convey this information to others
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • Fluency in English; Spanish a plus
  • Dependable transportation and a clean driving record required

 

Electrical Foremen Job Summary

We are looking for knowledgeable, experienced, Electrical Foremen to coordinate operations and oversee workers at our project sites.

As the liaison between workers, Superintendent and General Superintendent, the Foreman is the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project and as such must be able to see the “big picture” at all times. A keen awareness of materials expenses, permits and other regulations, as well as employee safety are all top-of-mind for the Foreman.

The ideal applicant will have a solid background in the field, strong leadership skills and the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. The Foreman must be well-organized and strongly focused on safety above all and at all times.

Foreman Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites at all times
  • Produce work schedules in accordance with availability of employees, contractors and labor laws and monitor the attendance of crew
  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery and personnel
  • Ability work in a team environment with a Superintendent and General Superintendent.
  • Provide for adequate resources to meet safety needs, regulations, best practices, laws and project schedule
  • Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery and equipment
  • Attention to detail on installing Electrical products according to specifications, submittals, blueprints and local codes
  • Manage a crew of 3-5 employees under Superintendent’s supervision depending upon project requirements
  • Maintain tool and equipment inventory
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on site quickly and amicably
  • Report project status to supervisors, site engineers and officials regularly

Foreman Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter)
  • 3-5 years’ experience as construction foreman
  • Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance and use, and OSHA guidelines
  • Understanding of use and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and convey this information to others
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • Fluency in English; Spanish a plus
  • Dependable transportation

 

Electrical Helper Job Summary

Responsible for assisting electrician at jobsites. Helps install, repair, and maintain electrical pipes, ducts and system components.

Primary responsibilities

  • Assist in installing and maintaining systems.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to determine exact specifications and where system and system components will be installed.
  • Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.
  • Assemble and install valves and fittings.
  • Assemble various system segments and components
  • Install equipment as directed by superiors.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and grade.

Skills Required

  • 1 -5 years experience in electrical industry
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems
  • Ability to take directive from Foreman/Superintendent
