Position Summary |
The Nursing program at Portland Community College is seeking multiple full-time instructors effective January 26, 2024, beginning the 2024/2025 academic year. The Portland Community College Nursing program is a member of the Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education (OCNE). Admitted nursing students have the option of completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Oregon Health and Science University after completing two years at PCC and earning the Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN). You are also encouraged to address how your professional and lived experience, scholarship, teaching, mentorship and/or service will contribute to the College. · Demonstrated ability to train and/or mentor nursing students through rotations and/or recent graduates through rotations. · Experience in healthcare education in a variety of modalities or educational delivery methods, with experience teaching at a community college and/or in an undergraduate nursing program preferred. · Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to creatively and collaboratively seek continuous improvement in reaching a variety of goals set forth by the organization. · Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, technology, as well as staff and/or student mentoring. · Proven training, mentoring or instructional experience, utilizing effective communication strategies, with diverse audiences, demonstrating an ability to create and nurture a sense of well-being and belonging. · Demonstrated ability to utilize culturally responsive and equity-focused practices with a diverse population and work environment. Minimum Qualifications To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked). · Master’s degree in Nursing and maintain expertise in one’s areas of responsibility, have at least three years of nursing experience, and hold a current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon, OR · Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and maintain expertise in one’s areas of responsibility, have at least five years of nursing experience, and hold a current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon. Preferred Qualifications · Experience teaching at a community college and/or in an undergraduate nursing program preferred · Experience with OCNE or concept-based curriculum in nursing education preferred |
Starting Salary Expectations |
Initial Salary Placement will be between Step 1 ($68,436) and Step 3 ($72,600) based on related experience, per PCC's collective bargaining agreement. Salary Range: PCC Full-Time Faculty Schedule 2022/23 |

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at PCC for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions. * Please note:Temporary Full-Time Faculty are not eligible for Personal Leave Days, Life Insurance, Long-term Disability, or AD&D Insurance.
