is seeking candidates for the following teaching position:

Special Education Teacher


Job Summary:  This position requires the individual to work with a specific caseload of students in a self-contained setting.  This teacher will be responsible for the instruction of this caseload of students.  Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for providing strategies to assist with behavior and emotional issues concerning the students.  Must be willing and able to collaborate with general education teachers, administration, and parents.  Must have the ability to use data to write and implement IEPs and monitor student progress toward achieving IEP goals.  Must be able to direct the duties of an assigned teaching assistant.   

Qualifications:  Must possess a degree in special education and be certified or certifiable in South Carolina for ED or a related area. 

Working Conditions:  This position is located at Edisto Elementary School.  The teacher will have the assistance and services of a teaching assistant   Salary supplement is available.
