Summary
SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly venues, has an excellent and immediate opening for Part-time Box Office Supervisor for SMG Miller Theater. This position sells tickets and interacts directly with patrons while also assisting in the management of Box Office staff and operations of the box office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
•Assists in the comprehensive training and scheduling of box office staff and assists in a regular staff development program.
•Creates box office reports to track sales and other variables.
•Prepares daily cash deposits. Responsible for box office financial reporting as assigned.
•Communicates with promoters, agents, and tour managers regarding ticket count reports, audits, and other ticketing needs as required.
•Manages complimentary tickets and is responsible for their distribution.
•Assists in additional show duties as needed, including but not limited to placing holds, releasing holds, building shows as directed, and other duties as assigned.
•Communicates with Etix in order to accomplish tasks as needed.
•Assists in marketing projects, as necessary, in order to promote events and bolster sales.
•Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, responds promptly to requests for assistance and service, and handle most box office questions without assistance.
•Responds to customer complaints as appropriate in addition to service requests to maintain a positive rapport with the ticket buying public.
•Fulfills all Box Office Staff needs as necessary including:
o Processing returns, refunds, or exchanges
o Selling tickets
o Utilizing a cash bank
o Maintaining an accurate record of daily balance of cash received, tickets sold, and change bank transactions accurately
o Fills reservations for seats by telephone or mail, handles Will-Call window according to procedures or other related duties as assigned by supervisor
•Opens/closes the ticket window as required in addition to assisting sales staff with open/close procedures
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Customer service experience required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Skills and Abilities
•Superior customer service and problem-solving skills required.
•Knowledge and experience with financial procedures.
•Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required. Experience with an electronic ticketing system preferred.
•Must be able to work independently.
•Ability to work irregular hours in addition to normal business hours.
•Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
•Unflappable under pressure.
•Driven to deliver excellent care, concern and positive interactions with each patron, vendor, client, promoter, guest.
•Able to sell all Miller Theater and Augusta Symphony events both in and outside the Miller Theater.
•Able to sell other Miller Theater merchandise and traveling artist merchandise as necessary.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills with ability to learn and master new applications. Experience with one or more web-based ticketing platforms highly preferred.
Other Qualifications
May be required to work irregular hours. Highly organized and attentive to detail.

Specific physical demands of this job include, occasional sitting, focusing on and operating a computer several times per day, the ability to read printed words and numbers in printed form and on computer monitor, communicating by telephone for up to 30 minutes at a time on a daily basis, stand several times a day for up to five minutes to operate a photocopier, hearing sufficient to clearly hear voices, alarms, bells, and horns, daily standing and walking for up to 60 minutes at a time to move throughout the facility and service events and write using pen/pencil or a computer keyboard for up to 30 minutes at a time on a daily basis.
