Business Engagement Liaison
BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT LIAISON
The Workforce Development Business Engagement Liaison is responsible for marketing Workforce Development programming across the Counties of Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper. This position is within the Lower Savannah Council of Governments (LSCOG) - Workforce Division located in Aiken SC. This position is a 2-year temporary position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and assess employer training/engagement across a 6-county geographic region as a member of the LSCOG Business Services Team
- Establish and maintain relationships with external training suppliers
- Identify and evaluate available training programs to address local area needs
- Develop and maintain training schedules for employers, job seekers and the community at large
- Promote and market training opportunities to increase talent acquisition and employment
- Coordinate with public workforce development, economic development, and educational organizations to support job seekers and employers
- Coordinate with local SC Works Centers on employer and job seeker services including job fairs, recruiting events, and training opportunities
- Coordinate with K-12 school systems to develop career pathways for rural school districts
- Provide feedback to training providers to maximize training efficiencies and employer training needs
- Collaborate with Business Services leads/teams for both the Lower Savannah Council of Governments and the Lowcountry Council of Governments
- Present workforce development opportunities and successes to county councils/elected officials
- Identify and assist in the development of employee/employer recruiting pipelines
- Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment
- Manage training budgets, as necessary
- Identify funding and grant sources to support training
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Services Manager, Workforce Development Administrator, Executive Director or Assistant Executive
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors' Degree in Business or Public Administration with a concentration in Community and Economic Development, Human Resource Management, etc. and two years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development contracting, grants management or monitoring; or Associates Degree in any one of the above disciplines and four years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development contracting, grants management or monitoring; or any equivalent combination of the education and experience listed above.
