Third-Party Billing Specialist
The George Mason University, Fiscal Services Department, invites applications for a Third Party Billing Specialist in our Office of Student Accounts. Responsibilities:
- Establish and create third-party accounts by reviewing various tuition assistance forms for accuracy, including all Special Arrangement Contract (SAC) waiver paperwork;
- Process tuition payments via wire transfer notices, wire transfers, checks, and credit card authorizations;
- Responsible for all aspects of customer service delivery and satisfaction based on established best practices;
- Agency account reconciliation of debit and credit balances and preparation of refund requests;
- Demonstrate professional courtesy to colleagues and others. Work with co-workers with development, cross-training, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Business or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated customer service and account analysis experience;
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
- General understanding of student privacy laws and policy, including FERPA;
- Working knowledge of Banner applications, or equivalent computer systems.
