Organizational Unit Overview: Campus Operations is a broad diverse division of Administration and Finance that includes all aspects of facilities management at East Carolina University. East Carolina University is the third largest university in the North Carolina system. Campus Operations is a major division of Administration and Finance with approximately 500 employees and a budget in excess of $30 million. The university is comprised of approximately 6.0 million square feet of facilities located on 960 acres with $700 million in physical assets. Facilities Services is a part of the broad, diverse division of Administration and Finance / Campus Operations that includes all aspects of facilities management at East Carolina University.
Job Duties: Inspection, maintenance repair of the Health Sciences Campus (HSC) high pressure steam distribution system. To include the monitoring and maintenance of the water treatment program. Serve as a relief Boiler Operator when required, operating gas fired boilers up to and including 1000 HP. To inspect, test and maintain the HSC vehicle fueling systems, both Gasoline and Diesel. To include the dispensing system, transfer systems, and the leak detection systems.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification. Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: 1-5 years experience with the operation and maintenance of 500-1000bhp, fire tube boilers is preferred. Experience in the area of water testing and treatment a plus. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and/or building automation systems is advantageous. Computer skills such a working with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook would be a plus. Experience with NC DOL boiler inspections would be helpful. Community college degree in mechanical, boiler, electrical systems preferred.
License or Certification required by the Department: A valid NC driver’s license.
