Property Management Accounting Position
Job Description:
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
- Process purchase orders, invoices and check requests for payment
- Review cash requirements in preparation to issue checks twice a month
- Reconcile bank statements on monthly basis
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately; disbursements, bank statements and supporting documentation, insurance certificate, subcontractor contracts
- 1099 maintenance and preparation
- Respond to all vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Assist with other projects as needed
Requirements:
- Four years of Property Management accounting experience for commercial and residential properties
- Two year degree in accounting
- Must have strong work ethic
- Must be well organized and a self starter
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Proficient in Excel and Word, experience with property management software such as Appfolio and Quickbooks
- Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principle knowledge, documentation skills, research and solution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
- Good understanding with respect to calculating and invoicing commercial tenant CAM based on the terms of the lease
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact with employees and vendor in a professional manner
