Trades Specialist IV
Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a Trades Specialist IV (General Carpenter) position in the Department of Facilities Planning and Management. This position will be responsible for providing day to day general maintenance work for all campus buildings.
Duties include but are not limited to: general maintenance work consisting of hanging bulletin boards, pictures, etc. as specified in work requests; making necessary repairs to campus facilities; carrying out preventative maintenance checks on all buildings campus-wide for exterior damage; repairing leaks in roofs, gutters, and ceilings; assisting in carpentry projects including renovations and new construction; assisting in planning and performance of general maintenance projects; installation of blinds and window repairs; assisting in preventive maintenance on doors and door closers campus-wide and making repairs when necessary; providing exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to faculty, staff, students, visitors, and the community at large; and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and four (4) years of experience in trades related and general maintenance work are required. A successful candidate must possess skills to make emergency and general repairs and/or adjustments to equipment used in building and maintenance work. Must have the ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, plans and specifications pertaining to related work as well as having knowledge of all types of tools, equipment and material used in the maintenance process. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
