Environmental Technician - Wastewater Treatment Plant
The City of Lebanon is accepting applications to fill the position of Environmental Technician at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The desired candidate will be seeking a career in the environmental field and a desire for further education and training in wastewater treatment. Responsibilities of the position require a self-starting highly motivated individual. Duties will include, but not limited to, sample collecting, testing and evaluating results to adjust the treatment process and maintain regulatory compliance, operation and maintenance duties at the treatment plant and pump stations, operate and maintain waste solids processing equipment, ability to understand and follow directions, basic computer skills, and other duties as assigned. Candidates must be available for routine/scheduled weekly standby status with paid 16 hours of straight time, and able to report to work within 30 minutes after contact. Situations may also arise that will require work after general working hours. Stand-By duties will be required upon successful completion of the probationary period. Position will require work in all types of seasonal weather conditions. A Class II or higher OEPA Wastewater Operator certification is required. Knowledge of the oversight of an Industrial Pre-Treatment program is preferred, but not required. An Ohio Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air break and tanker endorsements within 6 months of hire is also required. The successful candidate must be at least 18 years of age and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Hourly range is $21.00 - $26.00 depends on qualifications with pay rate increases provided for licensing advancement. The City of Lebanon offers an excellent benefit package. General Hours of work are Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm. Position will be opened until filled. The City of Lebanon requires pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
