Under policy direction of the County Administrative Officer and within State and Federal Laws and Rules, the Director of Finance is the ex-officio County Auditor-Controller, Treasurer Tax Collector who plans, organizes, coordinates, manages and administers the County's Department of Finance; provides strategic oversight and innovative services to meet and address the evolving financial and fiscal needs of Alpine County; assigns and coordinates professional and administrative activities of the department's staff; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits
100% FTE in a five step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion of a one year probationary period and annual increases thereafter.
Salary Range U18 ($111,444-$123,012) annually
o Health Insurance: County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employee with co-payment by employees dependent on family status.
o Vacation: Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.
o Administrative Leave: up to 96 hours based on years of service
o Sick Leave: Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.
o Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year.
o Retirement: Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan New Members
o Deferred Compensation: the County has a voluntary deferred compensation program.
o Alpine County is a drug, alcohol and smoke-free workplace.
